Cup tie today for under 12 colts, at home to Sandridge Rovers. Due to sickness we thought we would only be at 8 players, so we had worked on a 3-3-1 formation in training, but joss surprised us by turning up and playing despite not being fully fit, great commitment to the cause.

We stuck with the same formation though and focussed on 2 banks of three with Ben holding the ball up front and joss playing off him. It worked tremendously well, the boys really concentrated and we m...oved the ball around superbly to take a 2-0 lead early on. We then relaxed and were punished for it the defence going missing to allow them to come back to 2-1. That gave us a wake up call and we got our shape back going in 3-1 at half time. Second half we dominated and showed some great football running away 7-1 winners.
Goals for Fred, Owen, Charlie, James and a hat trick for stand in skipper Ben who was also colt of the match for his all round leadership and sticking to the task and position I needed him to play. Man of the match was Kayden, a maestros performance at left back, making match winning tackles but also reading the game so well, bringing it out of defence and playing numerous passes to open the game up down the left wing.
Thanks to Paul for helping me coach and matt for running line and both of them for helping me set up.
And thank you parents for your support.

Next week we are at home, later start of 10.45, see you all then!
